Judging of Divisions A and B will take place July14, 2006.  All other classes will be judged Saturday, July 8, 2006.

A. OPEN GARDEN DIVISION

Rules

  1. Champion and Reserve Champion will be awarded to the best overall exhibits.
  2. Three (3) or more exhibits of a like variety will cause a class to‑be established
  3. Produce need not be mature for exhibit competition.

B. OPEN FLORICULTURE DIVISION

Rules

  1. Champion and, Reserve Champion will be awarded to the best overall exhibits
  2. Each exhibitor must furnish their own container sized suitable to the exhibit. Containers are to be plain tin cans or bottles.
  3. There should, be foliage from the plant, but foliage will not be counted as a stem.
  4. All cut flowers to be exhibited with 3 stems unless otherwise indicated.
  5. Classes may be established when 3 or more exhibits of the same variety are entered
  6. Final class breakdown will be at judges' discretion.

  2. All houseplant are welcome.
  3. Final class breakdown will be at judges' discretion.

D. OPEN HANDICRAFTS DIVISION

Rules

  1. Kit projects are acceptable but must be exhibitor’s work.
  2. All exhibits that are designed to be hung must have a hanging device securely fastened in back.

  1. Other than paint‑by-number classes, all exhibits must be originals.
  2. Must not have exhibited the entry at the Park County Fair before. ,
  3. Any art sold during the fair should be done by private treaty.

G. OPEN PHOTOGRAPHY DIVISION

Rules

  1. Photos must be mounted on light-weight cardboard, poster board or construction paper in an artistic manner or matted or framed.
  2. Classes may be divided by black & white or color.
  3. Photography sold during the fair should be done by private treaty
  4. Must not have exhibited the entry before at the Park County Fair

Rules

  1. Clothing and accessories may be decorated using appliqué, needle­point, embroidery, crochet, weaving, paints, dyes, trims, leather strips, jute, studs, sequins, etc. Use your imagination.
  2. Entries will be judged on quality of workmanship, creativity, and quality of design.

Rules

  1. Open class cakes may be iced but will be judged on cake only.
  2. No commercial prepared mixes allowed.

N. OPEN COOKIES DIVISION

O. OPEN PIES DIVISION

Rules

Whole pie must be entered. One slice will be displayed and remainder donated to function of the fair. Pie crusts are to be homemade. Pies made with store-bought crust will be disqualified.

P. OPEN CANDY DIVISION

Q. OPEN FOOD PRESERVATION DIVISION

Note: Special awards will be given by Ball Corporation, Kerr, and Heinz Vinegar in 4‑H and open class divi­sions.

Rules

  1. All preserved foods must be processed. No hot pack, cold pack or jellies sealed with paraffin will be accepted.
  2. All canned products must be exhibited in a standard canning jar and lid (if pressure canned). Mayonnaise jars are acceptable for any product that is water bathed.
  3. Pickles, jellies, jams, butter, and preserves will be tasted.
  4. No decorative covers are permit­ted over lids.
  5. All canned products must have been canned since the 2001 fair.
  6. All products must be clearly labeled to include the following infor­mation:
    • Name of product
    • Date processed
    • Method of process
    • Time and altitude/pressure canner data

Absence of this information means disqualification.

  1. Any canned products showing leakage or spoilage will not be judged.

S. OPEN KITCHEN CRAFTS DIVISION

Y. OPEN KIDDIE SHOWCASE

Rules

  1. No entry fee ‑ No premium ‑ Danish System, everyone gets a ribbon.
  2. Please put the AGE of the child on the pre‑entry form.
  3. Any child 7 and under may partici­pate.
  4. All entries must be creative (that which requires original thinking, planning, and doing).
  5. Name and age of exhibitor should appear in the lower right hand cor­ner of exhibit.
